^^^Yeah, THAT size should have NO fitment problems whatsoever, regardless of ET/wheel width, or ride height!

I want to see a set of TALL and wide tread width 225/45s on them, and no rubbing. [wink]

Just got my set in the mail a couple days ago. Considering buying 245s and cutting the car up to fit them. On stock suspension right now but planning for coilovers ASAP. Edit - considering Toyo R888R in 245/45/16, any thoughts?

- R888r run really wide so check the actual width of the tire.
- R888r are sketchy in the rain so keep that in mind
- If you plan to do any time of AutoX you'll be knocked up to the top class because of 100TW
- 245/45/16 could fit on this car but with those wheels and ET it'll poke

I'd suggest looking at RT660, RE71R or something else in the 200tw range. But I also have a negative opinion of the R888r so take what I said with a grain of salt.

Thank you for the advice. The re71r comes in a 225/50/16 and was hoping to get wider. Don't really care about rain and I don't auto-x, just full track days so no worry about classes either. What do you mean when you say poke? I will likely be running some sort of fender flares as well so I can keep it street legal.

But even with all of the cutting/butchering of the fenders, and those flares, he probably would not be able to lower the car as much as he would (probably?) want and still not rub on full compressions of the suspension, with a 24.6" tall tire, no matter how stiffly sprung. [wink]

Thanks for the reply. So with these cars it seems like height is more of a concern than width? I'm thinking some CAD (cardboard aided design) is in order here to see what really fits. But now to decide - is a lowered/stiffer suspension with "small" tires better than a slightly taller suspension with "wide" tires? Edit: Also whatever rubs on this car is going to get cut off, assuming I can keep the car road legal and structurally sound.

Ideally would have been happy to get 225/45/16, Dunlop Z3's on instead but was not sure it wouldn't rub even with fender rolling and pulling. Hope I'm wrong.

Those are still a full half inch shorter than the 245/45-16s. [wink]

73mm wheel side to 63.4mm car side.

I unfortunately only have plastic ones available right now.

BTW for anyone considering working with OAKOS, I can't say enough good things about their customer service. Quick replies to emails and friendly knowledgeable folks.

I'm rebuilding a salvaged car so I don't have great pictures yet. Will take more once it's inspected and on the road. This is stock suspension with 205/45-16 re71r tires. I put on some center caps from Flat Out Graphics. Not super cheap at $50 for 4 but I think they really complete the look of the rpf1s better than the factory caps.

Those look good!

I don't like very raised/deep, conical/trapezoidal shaped center caps, even though I had to use them (from Compomotive, no less LOL) on my Method MR401VTs, since they were the ONLY thing I could find which actually fit the outer center bore of those wheels.
(Being a rally 'competition' labeled wheel, Method did not even make/offer a 'factory' center cap for them, at all.)
