1000+ miles = more smiles?

So I've heard through the grape vine that once you hit 1000-1500 miles the RS "wakes up"?
Is this true? Has anyone here experienced this?
I'm super happy with the car now... and if this is true it sounds even that much better!!!!

I'm at 6k miles now and it feels the same to me. The only difference is that I drive it harder now than the first 1k miles.[^]

LOL maybe that is what is happening with people saying it "wakes up".
