I need some help deciding on whether or not to go 16x7 with either a 215/45-16, or a 225/45-16 on them OR the heavier 17x8s with a 215/40-17 on them.

Weight vs. cost vs. handling performance v. 'ride', vs. wheel protection, etc. [???:)]

IMO you are better suited for the compromise of an ever so slight loss of turn in feel for better overall performance and an increase in ride quality. Tire size selection, IMO, is determined by drop/drop potential with the 215/45 offering the most drop/flexibility.


The main issue with 16's is tire selection. You seem fine with what is available, so this isn't really a factor for you.
