My Dead Hook Motorsports Experience
DHM Items purchased: GTX360R turbo kit, DHM 93oct tune w/ aux fuel by Russell Culver, remote live dyno tuning by Russell Culver, DHM Fiesta ST symposer delete, DHM Race intercooler kit w/ crash bar and Garrett core upgrade, DHM ethanol tune by Russell Culver
My overall experience with DHM/Russell Culver can be described as "superior". From communication, quality of products and tuning, all aspects are superior to anything I've experience in the car modification world. My money went far with this company and I guarantee I will be a repeat customer. I hope DHM expands to other platforms in the future so I can continue to use their products.
In retrospect, I wish I had just began with DHM products from the beginning. I started modifying my 2015 Ford Fiesta ST w/ a Cobb Stage 2 package using the Stage 3 OTS map, ATP catless downpipe and MBRP 3" catback exhaust. At this point, I have found myself selling off my Cobb intercooler, Cobb intercooler piping, [Cobb intake, MBRP catback] and ATP downpipe and replaced them with DHM parts.
As noted before, if there's one "negative" point, it's the expected wait time for their hand-fabricated parts. Point blank, EVERYTHING Russell and Cory make with their talented hands is worth the wait. My Fiesta with DHM products and tune is as reliable and solid as a factory car. As for performance, my DHM Fiesta has surprised and pissed off a number of cars including a turbo FR-S (308whp) and a fully-modded STi. As for practicality, my WORST calculated gas mileage for one whole tank is 29.3mpg with me enjoying numerous highway pulls.
Attached to this post is a V-dyno showing the boost and AFR profile of the GTX360R kit, a Dynojet pull overlapping my stock baseline run and a few product pics. In the provided dynos, the car is still running a 93oct MAP with a Cobb intercooler. The e30-40 tune with the race intercooler with Garrett core upgrade have yet to be installed and logged.
Thank you Dead Hook Motorsports!
