Since our engine and trans comes from the UK, not sure there would even be separate US parts?
I just meant why get the UK parts in bulk when you should be able to easily access them in the US but ron made a good point.

Good lord, that's an expensive bucket! I think I paid ~$8 a piece for the ones in my Nissan.

It's nice to know we have a seller stateside for these. I'll have to pick one up next time I have some spare change.

Right on, not sure if it's the same part or not for the 2.0T, if so you'd think there would be plenty stateside stock at an inexpensive price for all the FoST's out there too... I'm just glad DI engines have come so far in 10 years, I mean they even upgraded the PCV and EGR plumbing on '16+ for less carbon build-up to the point that certain tuners feel catch cans don't do much for us.

After seeing your post I finally checked and wow, I assumed they would be well under $20, the VAG ones were like $10 like your Nissan... must be the UK cost thing to import them as I know Ron isn't a price gouger. Also, I'm sure they are excellent quality and only need to be done every 50k at most and that's probably on 300+HP cars. But yes, nice to have a vendor looking out for us and bringing this topic up!

Thanks for the heads up, and availability of the parts RON! [thumb] [:)]

I am hoping that between super premium, BIG anti-wear/anti-friction add pack oils, changed before 4K mile OCIs, will help stave off my need to change this out at least a little bit later than sooner. ;)

Good price with shipping!
thank you.
The price before was not a money grab, it's gbp to USD plus shipping of what I paid my UK OEM supplier
I had no idea these were available stateside. Thank goodness I only purchased 30 cam buckets and not 30 fuel pumps without doing some additional research haha

Is this a leaked date that they will stop making the 1.6T? Hmmm...

It is a terminology thing officially called a "tappet assy" by Ford. Don't think you will have trouble selling them.

I just ordered these a long with some colder plugs. I bought the car at 43k, so I'm happy to find an excuse to get under the hood again, especially for $18.

Our tester from TX have provided the results of the cam bucket swap

They are as follows:

measurements:
Old cam bucket 3.024mm
NEW cam bucket 3.056mm (+29 microns)
The new measurement was done after a break-in drive so any coating on the new cam bucket would not affect the measurement

Fuel Pressure was 2966psi at WOT and 630psi at idle before and after the swap

Initial impression may be placebo but the car felt smoother at tip in and wide open throttle.
The test car has 76k on the odometer and is meticulously maintained. This car is also has a hybrid turbo upgrade with about double the factory BHP on tap
Some owners that may not have as frequent oil change intervals could see additional wear

Most UK Fiesta owners go after this mod nor only as a maintenance item but as a safety check or "cheap insurance" when they are about to bump up the power significantly with a turbo upgrade or fully tuned full bolt on.

Picture of cam bucket replaced at 76,000 miles

Hey Ron, thanks for supplying this information - I'm UK based but good to see someone providing measurements for the tappet. So 76,000 miles on a modified car and it had hardly worn the metal tappet away. I'm not modifying mine but will be changing at 35k in January, which is roughly the mileage i'll be at. Are these REALLY necessary - I spoke to my local dealer and they've sold 1 in the last 4 years. So I see that it's preventative maintenance but it doesn't seem likely that any car sub 100,000 miles is going to be problematic. I'm only doing it due to the stigma that comes with the ST - "if it fails, your engine will blow up" which sounds like a load of crap, considering it doesn't have a service interval. Either way, i'll definitely do it but it's an annoying 30 minute job! xD

This item seemingly is a maintenance part when most are ready to add a serious bump in power to their Fiesta to ensure proper fuel pressure.
That's why we have it available. If you are adding a turbo upgrade but the car is like new with a few thousand miles I wouldn't bother.
If the car has 40,000, 50,000+ or more.....I'd replace the cam bucket as it's cheap and simple insurance that this part is not going to be an issue when going after the extra power
