Who is running the Whoosh big brake kit? Thoughts/opinions?

I picked up the 300mm (16" wheel size) bbk, planning to run under 16x8 rpf1s from Oakos. I also picked up 10mm H&R spacers/studs. Should that be enough clearance to fit the calipers? Also debating buying new hubs/bearings to swap the studs into new hubs off the car, figured it would be easier and a good preventative task. Any thoughts on this?

You should be fine. Im currently running the 16x7 rpf1 with a 15mm spacer just fine. Seems like there is maybe 3mm of space. 16x8 has more offset than mine. Think you are 38 and im 43. On the flipside i just bought dekagrams and trying not to run spacers lol still searching here for info

yes it does as it can help with clearance. D-Resonant has the Whoosh kit and we checked my 16x8 +40 offset Dekagrams with the 300mm kit and they would need a 5mm spacer. You should be fine with the 10mm spacer.

Your Dekagrams are +40 and if you see above a 5mm with the Whoosh 300mm big kit will clear.

so the larger the number is for the offset the more the wheel tucks in. Since you are 38offset and im 43off set you stick out more by 5mm. So your 10mm spacer will work

Yes the more positive offset the more ones wheels are tucked. You do have to take into account that his wheel is also only 7 inches wide which means less backspace overall front to back. So he may need more spacer depending on the spoke design of the wheel. This why Ron and most big brake manufacturers either send you a measuring cut out or have a link to printing out a measuring cutout for this very reason.
It eliminates all the back and forth guessing games.

I need to look closer but can we get muti piece rotors with aluminum hats for the little 15" clearance versions? I want to keep running my little snow/rally wannabe set up in the winter.

Does anyone know where the calipers come from? I assume they are OEM refurbished from something, maybe Renault Clio, or Nissan Sentara SE-R?

Not trying to go around Whoosh at all, I would buy this kit for the reasonable price and great service everyrime vs trying to piece something together myself. Just curious about the lineage of the calipers. They look smaller than early Boxster Calipers, or STI, and Evo Brembos?

Sentra SE-R Calipers where Brembo’s and only on certain years. I used to sell them in the 240sx scene.
The Whoosh brakes are not sourced from OEM if thats what you are suggesting . There is nothing stateside that even gets close to matching them design wise.

They are proper though. Radial mounted caliper bolts, correct brake hat center holes (no adapter hub centric rings)
They really are about the best deal going on quality Big Brakes for our cars.

Here are the part numbers that fit this kit - DP41377R (Yellowstuff) and DP51377NDX (Bluestuff) - @ron@whoosh might be worth it to add these PNs to either the BBK page or even just start stocking them!

Note that I didn't buy the Blue stuff but I assume this part number is correct. I didn't even drive on the Red pads but I knew I wanted something more aggressive anyways.

Diameter-wise you should clear fine, it's just the caliper clearing the inside of the wheel spokes that you might have an issue with. You can use spacers as others have done, but for myself I wouldn't want to use them, but I don't think Ron has a caliper template he can send so we can check for clearance.

If you have the chance, it woule be interesting to have more info on this nice kit. For example, rotor thickness, total caliper width, overall disc height, etc.
